Gentle & Effective chiropractic for people & small animals of all ages

McTimoney Chiropractic is suitable for people and animals of all ages and can be used to treat many conditions both acute and chronic. The gentle nature of McTimoney Chiropractic uses a precise method of adjusting bones and joints to improve skeletal alignment which will help the nervous system to work more efficiently which should relieve pain and discomfort thus improving mobility.

Combining McTimoney with Emmett, a light touch therapy is a particularly effective way of providing treatment for most patients.

In my experience using McTimoney Chiropractic alongside other therapies can be extremely beneficial in treating a variety of conditions

Emmett Technique

The Emmett Technique relies upon an understanding of the body’s response to light touch. It has been suggested that the body reacts in a similar way to the workings of a touch-screen. Small sensors allow access to the brain via a therapist’s touch. These points have the ability to reset the memory programme and create effective muscle actions through memory recalibration.

Emmett is truly a complementary therapy. It may be applied in isolation but it also combines easily with all other bodywork and exercise specialities such as massage, chiropractic, physiotherapy, Bowen therapy, craniosacral therapy, yoga, Pilates and personal training as some typical examples.

Low Level Laser Therapy

Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) is also now known as Photobiomodulation which more accurately describes its action within the body.

Essentially it involves the modulation of cellular activity through the controlled delivery of light to area to be treated.

The physiological responses to LLLT involve stimulation of the body’s natural healing processes, optimises repair and helps to restore normal cellular function in the target area. There appears to be a healing response, a pain relief response and an immune boosting response.

Matscan - Digital Pressure Mat

It is a truism to state that if an animal cannot stand “right” it will be unable to walk “right” and this is the reason I have a Digital Pressure Mat.

Most pressure mats are programmed to record animals (or people!) as they move, however my Matscan digital pressure mat is especially programmed to record static weight-bearing (ie: patient/animal is standing still).

I use it as an objective measure of weight-bearing at that particular moment in time and as an indicator of progress made; it may also flag up other issues that need investigation. Almost all dogs are recorded prior to each treatment and some people, too, depending upon the reasons for their treatment. In and of itself the Matscan is not a diagnostic tool – however it is useful because it provides a factual statement of the condition of the person or animal being recorded.
